Mission:
Our Mission is simple: to do restoration right. Our restoration work has won awards from government and private cultural heritage organizations for the exemplary attention to detail and high quality of our work. Our passion for bringing back historical properties, and the meticulous work we do makes us outstanding from the multitude of other restoration projects.
Our restorations are historically accurate. They preserve and restore the original materials where possible. Short of that, they reconstruct what existed, or make adaptive reuse of existing elements to preserve and extend the spirit of the architecture and style. Kitchens and bathrooms are good examples of this. Our goal is to make each space in the house work together, and work for the people that live there. Each room should be capable of being lived in and enjoyed. That's what houses are for, aren't they?
Beliefs:
We believe people should love where they live.
We believe that every house is unique, with a personality that was an expression of the artists and craftspeople that built it. Over time, structural damage, remodeling, and cosmetic changes have compromised most properties, and the identity of the house may be obliterated. Careful restoration can remove the layers of change that have occurred over time, and bring back the original spirit of the house. We are always surprised at what a house tells us about its self as the restoration process proceeds.
We believe that when restoration is done right, the house should last into the next century. Our restoration work is not just cosmetic. Structural basics such as repairing and securing foundations, having adequate and updated plumbing, heating, and electrical infrastructures, and adequate protection from rain in the form of roofing, gutters, and grading all are essential prior to tackling the more visual projects of plastering, painting, and woodwork.
